I never had the opportunity to play instrumental music as a youngster, but I heard how much fun it was from my wife and my son. So when I heard there was a band for beginning adults, I thought "This is my chance."
My son had played the euphonium, so I was partial to low brass. The tubas just sounded like fun, so in January of 2012, I got my first tuba and started teaching myself. I'm retired from a career working as an engineer for Eastman Kodak, mostly working on motion picture sound track technology. Beside practicing the tuba, hobbies include woodworking and photography.
