In my "youth", I played 1st chair in the Eastridge H.S. concert and dance bands, as well as all-county band. At Clarkson college I only played with the hockey pep band and ROTC Marching Band where I learned my outdoor trumpet voice.

A few years later, after staring a family, I played trumpet and flugelhorn for a contemporary party/club band known as Hojack. My wife, Rosemary, was the lead singer. At that time I also learned how to play the flute. I did that for about 7 years and then set my instruments aside to take up sailing.

Fast forward 40 years or so and here I am back at it again playing trumpet with the New Horizons bands (Spring/Fall), the Webster Village Band (Summer), and the Golden Isles Georgia Community Band (Winter). While in Jekyll Island Georgia for the Winter, I sit in once in a while with a southern rock group called The Wharf Ratz and play mostly a blues flute and an occasional horn backup tune with a sax player. We are known as The Wanna Beez Horn Section (appropriately named!)
