| Priscilla Todd Brown is an accomplished oboist, educator, and conductor whose distinguished career spans over five decades. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music with a degree in oboe performance, she began her musical journey at the Eastman School of Music. Priscilla has played, toured, and recorded with esteemed ensembles, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Bethlehem Bach Orchestra, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
Priscilla's dedication to music extends into education. She earned a Master of Science in Music Education from Nazareth College, now Nazareth University, where she also taught oboe for several years. She also taught at Brockport State and Geneseo State Universities and maintained a private oboe studio from 1970 through 2012. Her commitment to nurturing young talent shone during her 20-year tenure as Instrumental Music and Band Director at East High School in Rochester, for which she received the Rochester Philharmonic Musicians' Award for Outstanding Music Educators in 2002.
In addition to teaching, Priscilla is an experienced conductor, having directed high school bands, jazz bands, swing bands and guest-conducted numerous All-City ensembles. She continues to inspire senior musicians as a conductor with the New Horizons Bands through the Eastman Community Music School.
Her artistry and leadership have left a lasting impact on the musical communities she serves by blending performance excellence and her passion for education. Priscilla remains a vibrant force in both the classical musical and educational worlds, enhancing the musical experience of all generations.
