| I started trombone in 4th grade and became hooked almost immediately. It seemed like I played the trombone constantly throughout high school at every venue imaginable, yet I decided on a career in healthcare. So, I took a 45 year vacation from playing until I retired at age 62. The following year, the wife of my trombone teacher gave me his beloved trombone, a rare vintage Constellation Conn 88H, and I was hooked all over again. It was rough at first but I now find myself playing in several different bands including the fabulous Music Educators Wind Ensemble under the direction of Bill Tiberio.
I'm also fortunate to be able to participate in several virtual recordings thanks to CoVid. The most recent one, being the NYSSMA Virtual Summer Conference closing performance of "Shortcut Home" (Wilson)by the Directors Band.
I also mentor 6-8 grade trombone and low brass instruments at Port St Lucie Public Schools when I'm there in the winter.
Together with my very supportive wife, Rosie, music has become a great love and retirement adventure for both of us. In addition we enjoy attending baseball games, playing golf and traveling. |
