| James Julian is a 2nd year Master of Music student at Eastman School of Music where he is studying Clarinet Performance and Literature with Associate Professor Michael Wayne. He is currently a Teaching Assistant for Secondary Clarinet at Eastman and Clarinet Intern at Eastman Community Music School.
James has achieved audition successes at Eastman including winning the Verdehr Trio Award for chamber music. He regularly plays principal clarinet with the Eastman Philharmonia Orchestra and Eastman Wind Ensemble.
Before attending Eastman School of Music, James performed professionally with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Opera Australia Orchestra in his hometown of Sydney, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance degree from the University of Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
James is grateful to be supported in his studies through scholarships from Eastman School of Music and the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust. |
