My name is Elmar Heinrich Frangenberg. I grew up in a small village in Germany near the Dutch border.

My interest in music was triggered by my mother, who played the piano and sang and encouraged me to pursue lessons on the keyboard instrument throughout my school years.

I followed in the footsteps of my father, who served as the village family physician. As a new medical graduate, I came to the United States on an exchange visitors??? visa to complete an internship at St. Mary???s Hospital in Passaic, NJ, where I met my future wife, Catherine. We moved to Brooklyn, NY, where I trained as a resident in pediatrics at the Kings County Hospital. After returning for two years to Germany I qualified for a citizenship application. We moved to Rochester, where I finished my medical training in the department of Neurology at the University Medical Center and pursued a career with the State Office for Persons With Developmental Disabilities and the United Cerebral Palsy Association.

For the past five years I have accepted the challenge of a string instrument and enjoy contributing to an ensemble in the company of music lovers. Another pastime is riding and carriage driving with our two Morgan horses.
