Alan Wertheimer retired from Eastman Kodak / E3Harris, where he managed an optical engineering group. He has sung in congregational choirs for decades, and for fifteen years, he sang with The Bowties, a six person semi-pro a cappella group until it disbanded in 2013. (Semi-pro means that once in a while they got paid to perform). He had played clarinet in high school. In 2024, nearly 60 years later, he once again opened his clarinet case and resumed playing. They say it is like riding a bicycle, but in his situation, initially it had flat tires.
Alan and his wife, Judy, are volunteers at the Eastman Museum where they weed, trim, and help maintain the gardens and grounds. For many years, they have spent winters in Sarasota Florida. Time will tell if recent hurricanes change that behavior. Alan has always had photography as a hobby, and enjoys taking and sharing pictures of travels he and Judy have been able to do since his retirement in 2010. |
